Mae is a spirited seven-year-old who feels anxious and nervous in social situations-unless she's wearing one of her "magical" hats. When Mae forgets her bag of hats on a visit to her nana's house, she worries about how she'll manage without them. But Nana has a special plan to help Mae discover something even more magical than her hats.

Kelly Lattal is a retired elementary school teacher and the author of the debut children's book, "Mae's Magical Hats." She resides in central Indiana with her husband, a dog, and a cat. Kelly enjoys reading historical fiction and is passionate about writing stories for children.
Illustrator - Cynthia Heher
Cynthia is a professional artist whosea passions in life include children, painting, flowers, fossils, and unusual gemstones. Along with her husband, she helped create "Rare Earth Mining Co.," which is now run by her son Curtis Heher. Curtis teaches about and sells one-of-a-kind gemstones and fossils to museums and jewelers around the world. Her other son, Will, has a passion for teaching, which excites his high school AP science students. Both sons have wonderful families, each with three fantastic and kind children.
